Is it the usual practice for the Solicitor or ourselves to retain the original will. We have the option to take the original will and leave a copy with the solicitor or vice versa. What has been the experience of others. Thanks in advance. Justsally

M missdaisy Registered User Messages 319 26 Aug 2010 #2 Hi, It's usual practice to leave the original Will with the solicitor. Solicitors' offices have fire proof safes for Wills and deeds. I would advise leaving the original with your solicitor and taking a copy home with you.
