Should I re-negotiate price for internal plastering?

My plasterer quoted me a total €7k for external plastering and another €7k for internal plastering of my new build. Labour only. He has completed the external sand/cement/lime plastering, and did a fine job.

For the interior; I have since decided to use insulated plasterboard on the inside of all external walls, which comprises of nearly all of the walls as it happens.

So my (limited) understanding is that instead of a applying a full scratch coat and finish coat, my plasterer has to simply skim the plasterboard.
Is this a lot less work, and should I be looking to re-negotiate the price?

Cutting these boards and fixing them takes time, esp the internal angles. By the way, why are you blobbing them rather than using mushrooms?

The €7k quoted does not even include fitting the insulated slabs (I have been quoted €10 per slab in addition).

That's why I feel €7k seems high....

Generally, should internal plastering be cheaper than external, if it only consists of skimming slabs?

Skimming takes roughly half the time of render and skim. OK, so you've got to scrim and caulk the joints first .......... so (loosely thought out) I'd say 60% of the original price. The plasterer will give you a new price.

Many thanks Simeon, - I can have a proper chat with my plasterer now. Would like to stick with him if we can agree a new price.

Btw; I will be blobbing the boards and in addtion to mushrooming them.
