Should I always increase my credit card limit?

Good question and thank you - I have just checked and my AIB platinum was 1% when I got it (and I still thought it was!) but now has been cut to 0.5%. It appears only UK AMEX pays 1% now (which isn't accepted everywhere). Revolut new credit card headlines the 1% number but its short term and limited
Interesting, is it possible to get the UK Amex card as an Irish citizen residing in Ireland?

Hi, I was recently approved for a mortgage with PTSB. My partner and I both have high limit credit cards with zero balances. They negatively affected our borrowing capacity. We didn't need any more than we were approved for. However, the mortgage advisor handling our application did say we could have closed one card off or reduced the limits if we needed to increase the amount of the mortgage.

yes i had something similar where avant viewed my high credit card limit and high overdraft limit (both unused) as debt effectively.
