A retired friend has a significant sum in an approved retirement fund and he is moving it to a cash/deposit ARF & away from equity invested.
He is looking for the best home for it in terms of a combination of high interest rate & low charges. Are ARF cash rates published anywhere or is it a case of rining around the various institutions (eg I rang Anglo & got quoted 4.07% with 0.25% annual management fee).
Most pension cash funds only declare their returns after the event.
Standard Life have a self-directed ARF that allows you to choose your own deposit provider. Default provider is Ulster Bank who are paying ECB at present, i.e. 4% variable. They also have an Anglo Irish 3-month rate of 5.25% for a limited period.
All of these rates will be reduced by the Annual Management Charge of 1%.
