Sharp LCD Problem

Hi Guys,

I bought a 42' Sharp Aquos LCd about 8 months ago from DID.

Recently I have noticed a problem with the LCD. There is a vertical line in the middle of the screen and the picture to the right of the line is brighter than the picture to the left of the line.

Now over the last few days, the picture on the left hand side of the line is blackening out as you watch the TV eventually leading to the left hand side being totally black.

Anyone any ideas of the problem here ?

I am sure it is still under warranty with DID, Should I ask for my money back or a replacement even as I have lost faith with this unit

Cheers,
MrC

Don't do that you will make me nervous I have a 46 one of these.

I hope my 1700 quid tv will last way more than a year.

I don't what the policy is I assume they will try to get it repaired.

Let us all know what happens.

Some sets have a demo mode for digital enhancement, showing before/after in a split screen. But I'd doubt if this would stay on, if activated accidentally, after powering down and back on again.

I just mention this as an outside chance of an explanation.
