Has anyone used the sharewatch facility to buys shares without registering for an account. It's €50 per transaction and you transfer the money into their bank account up front. It just seems a little bit of a leap of faith in that you don't get any acknowledgement until you transfer the money, request the trade be placed, and after a few weeks should receive share certs. Maybe I'm being overly cautious but would be good to hear if anyone else has used this facility as I don't plan on opening a trading account (would be a very small time trader so not worth the costs!).
 
A relative of mine used the service a couple of times. It all went quite well except they forgot to send one of the contract notes for one of his trades, and he had to ring them a few times to get them to send it on. He eventually recived the same.
The share certs came from the company registrar within a month or so.
 
I used it recently. Lodged the money and was able to do the business about an hour later. And the cert arrived in a week or so. No problems at all.
