I'm trying to find if there is an online source to find what the share price was for Fyffes on a particular day back in 2001.
I've moved house a number of times since then so i don't have a record anymore of the purchase price in my files, just the number of shares.
I'm trying to work out the CGT due but i need the purchase price to start, which i cant find anywhere.

Thanks for any suggestions.

It will be very difficult to sort out.

May 2006: Firm spins off its property portfolio to a separate firm, Blackrock International Land plc. It retains a 40 per cent share in the new entity. Blackrock changed its name to Balmoral International Land plc in October 2010.

January 2007: Firm spins off its fresh produce business as Total Produce plc. The McCanns currently hold an 11.6 per cent stake in the firm.

Do you still have shares in Blackrock and Total Produce? If you sold them, you would have had to do a CGT calculation. If you don't have it Revenue might have it.

I remember that at some stage it went mad due to the dot.com bubble. They set up a website World of Fruit.com and the share price doubled.

You might be able to find a news report from that time.

Since the site was announced in December, Fyffes' share price has risen 64 per cent to an alltime high this week of €2.70 (£2.13). Following the official launch at the Fruit Logistica 2000 exhibition - the showcase of the fruit world - in Berlin last week, Fyffes shares soared from €2.25 to €2.58.
