Hi all,
I have a simple but efficient wireless network established at work. To increase efficiency from front of house to the main office, I was wondering if it is possible to set up something like an audio alert for when clients arrive.

Now, I know there are bells, phones, buzzers etc etc (!!) but I would prefer to utilise the existing technology if possible. We are running on Windows XP. Currently the main office are alerted by means of highlighted schedule planner - is it possible to send an audio 'alert' also?
I have searched the Windows 'Help' but to no avail.

All help and advice welcome, thanks.

In case it may help clarify the above - is it possible to insert an 'Audio alert ' or sound to an Excel file?.. thanks.

Not something I'm at all familiar with, but is [broken link removed] of any benefit?

I don't understand the original query even after the second post. Are you asking if you can have your wireless work like a doorbell?

Yes - we need another doorbell, thank you.. ..

Satanta - thanks for the link, thats ideally what I need to set up. Will explore further and thanks for the tip!

I'm lost on this one What would an excel file have to do with a doorbell??

Crikey - I actually laughed!!
Okay okay, in brief (and hopefully clearer this time). I need to know if it is possible to set up an audio alert into an excel spreadsheet e.g if a change is made to a cell on the excel spreadsheet then an alert / noise will activated / heard. Simple idea in theory but not in practice. The link provided above by Satanta answers my query.. complicated set up though. Thanks to all for help.

Not quite the same as...
which makes it sounds like you wanted something that detects that a person has arrived and then sound an audio alert.
