separated spouse,first time buyer status?

hi any views appreciated, separated spouse,family home sold and proceeds divided, other spouse was only name on the title of the family home, would the non title spouse then have first time buyer status or would it be lost owing to complexities of family home law, thanks

I thought that only if one of the spouses did not benefit from the sale of the house could that spouse retain their FTB status?

Separatees can be treated as first time buyers

ur correct clubman...

in order for a separatee to be deemed a first time buyer they must not have any interest in the house or it's proceeds. if you have taken money from it then you're not classed as a FTB
