Hey Guys,

Basically i seperated from my wife last year, when i tried to claim the single parent tax credit i got a phone call from the revenue saying i hadnt been registered as married. I can no longer access my tax years 2010-2007 on Paye Anytime. Will this have any effect on my tax paid for these years? We were getting assessed seperately, married 2 and a half years ago.

Thanksd

You should rephrase your title if you want more responses plus it's misleading as you state in your actual post that indeed you are married.

I don't understand the first sentence regarding the Revenue. Even if you weren't registered as married, the fact is that you are entitled now to the One Parent Family Tax Credit (that's the one you referred to with "single parent tax credit" right? And I am presuming you're entitled...having the kid over night etc.).

Try to call them again and see if you can talk to someone else. My experience is that sometimes you get someone who doesn't have a clue themselves and sometimes you get someone who knows the ins and outs and is really helpful. You can then ask why you can't view 2007-2010 online, too.

The PAYE Anytime system usually shows a message giving you details as to why you cannot view the relevant years.
