selling shares owed by sister living in usa

my sister who lives in usa has sent me a share cert which she wants me to sell for her. She has also written a letter which stated that she wants me to do this for her. Where is the best place for me to do this,I bank with aib is it best to do where I am known and also how will I be able to send her the money she wants it in dollars. The shares are valued about 12 thousand. I dont know that much about selling shares
 
Check the various commission charges as ClubMan says and then having made your choice, ring the customer service department of the broker in question. They will tell you all you need- due to Money Laundering REgulations the list is quite long nowadays.

Also beware CGT in relation to the shares- is your sister aware of what CGT ( if any) she will have to pay?
