Selling property, notice to tenant

Hi i have a property that i have given tenants notice that i intend to sell. My question is that i may now want to live in it due to change in circumstances. Do i go ahead with the notice i have already given them or do i now have to serve another notice saying i want it for own use or does it matter.
 
Well, technically you will have to offer to re-let the property to the current tenants if you don't enter into a contract for sale within 9 months of the termination date.
 
Hi thanks for reply, or do i just issue tenant with different letter straight away?
 
Did you include a statutory declaration with your original notice? If not, it was an invalid notice in any event.
 
How long does the owner have to inform rtb of changes?
