self employed & PAYE under one PPS no

I am PAYE and have all have all myself and my wifes credits. She runs a very small home business which is registered under my PPS no.

question is do we have to go through the self employed self assessment route or can we just declare her small income when doing my Balancing Statement?

I don't know the tax answer but I would advise not being too aggressive with any apportioned expenses claimed for the home business: i mean elec, landline phone rental and usage, broadband, heating lighting, equipment etc.

Thanks, its mostly expenses for her supplies, she is a crafter.
