Self employed moving to employment

Hi there,

I've been a sole trader doing a number of contracts for the past 18 months. I am most likely going to be entering the PAYE arena again soon either full time or on contract...

How do I go about getting a tax credit cert if I go into PAYE employment again (given this is the first year I will be paying 08 self assessment taxes and 09 prelim taxes).

No problem, just contact Revenue at the PAYE District relevant to you. Contact details can be got by putting in your PPS number on the Revenue Contact locator here . When you ring you will need your PPS number and the employer reg'd number of the new employer. They will set you up with that employer and allocate your tax credits there. Bear in mind they will probably only do that on a Week 1 basis as some of your tax credits need to be held to cover the self-employment earnings to date.
