Hi,
I have just started a 9 month contract in the UK as a consultant, and need to register as self-employed for tax purposes in either the UK or Ireland. I have never worked as self-employed before, and hopefully plan to stay in the UK after this contract. I have not lived in Ireland since 2009 (working in Australia), therefore have not paid Irish tax since then.
Should I register as self employed and therefore pay tax in the UK or in Ireland? Which is the more financially beneficial?
Any help is welcome as this is a new topic for me.
