Hi I wonder if someone could help me out here. I'm self employed as an artist and sell my work. I do my tax return every year and pay PRSI. This year trade has been slow so I got a part time job working in a shop. My employer at the shop also pays PRSI on my behalf. My question is: do both of us have to pay PRSI? Or can one of us stop?

Your employer is obliged to pay PRSI on your behalf, and you also pay PRSI (Class A which will be deducted from your wages) on any amount you earn over E352 per week in your employment.
In addition you will continue to pay class S on your income from self-employment
