Is there an error with the assertion that some schools are getting back €173 for every €250 donated? My calculation is that if the donator is paying tax at 41%, then €250 would generate a refund of €102.50.
I just read that article a few moments ago. To me it's not the calculation that's causing me concern it's the fact that the schools that probably get more voluntary donations and shall we say are more affluent get more funding than a school in a deprived area that probably requires more funding.
I know charities get this clawback but as a society are we really comfortable with this?? It just doesn't sit well with me.
