Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right area for my query.
We are expecting our first child in five months and have just been going through our finances etc. We are in good shape for insurance, Dis, serious illness etc. We have decent savings. We are going to start saving for our child's college education s soon as he/she is born and our plan is to have one more child in two years. We are both in our late 30s and our contracts state that we will retire at 60. We are thinking of saving 250e per month for 22 years to cover the college education for both children. We will both retire in 22 years so that is why we have picked a 22 year savings plan. For anyone else doing this are you saving more/less. The fees are now approx 3k per child and god knows what they will be in 18/20 years. Someone recommended the lifesaver plan with Zurich, any other recommendations? Also can you have an annual inflation of 4/5% on a savings plan? Thanks in advance for any tips or advice.
