"Save As" Dialog box keeps closing

When I save a file and the dialog box comes up, as soon as it finishes downloading the box disappears without giving me the chance to click on "open" - this only started a couple of days ago, before that the box remained there until I decided whether to open the file or close the box - any ideas??

Un-check the little box that says 'Close this dialog box when download completes'..?

God, it can't be that simple is it?! Must check when I get back home - funny though I never checked the box in the first place - unless by accident! Thanks.
