I agree. I think the Late Late should have been allowed to die quietly when Gay Byrne retired and be remembered fondly as a great programme.
Also, I don't understand why RTE are so determined to have a second weekend chat show on a Saturday night as well. Have they no imagination. There must be lots of other things they could put on at that time.
