Hi All,

I loaned my Samsung charger to someone for a few weeks while they are on holiday and am using a USB-C cable to charge the phone in the meantime. When I charge it in the car with that cable it charges very quickly but when charging it on the home computer it is extremely slow. Just wondering if there is any way around this other than buying another charger or is there something wrong? I suppose it would be handy to have a spare charger but don't really want the bother of buying.
 
Have you tried all the USB ports on the computer?
Some may provide more current (mA) than others and that will speed up charging.
 
What make and model of computer is it?
Do you have any other USB device to try charging from?
 
Samsies with me. Takes a few hours to fully charge similar phone through laptop usb
 
No, its about how much power can be delivered by the port. You can by dedicated chargers with 20w, 30w, 40w charging power etc. A laptop port will always be inferior to a standalone charger. If you do go looking for a dedicated charger, make sure somewhere on the box it says "fast charging"
