I bought my house under shared ownership and transferred to full mortgage some time later, under the purchase rules, and because the vendor was an original tenant purchaser I am prohibted from letting my house and must be an owner occupier. I have asked my solicitor to look into any way i can get out of this clause. I have recently got a job in another part of the country but it is unlikely that I will sell my home in the current market. I cant afford two mortages or mortgage and rent in the other town. Has anyone come across this before? Can I get out of this by re-mortgaging or adding someone onto the mortgage (ie move one further degree of separation from the original tenant vendor) so that I can let my home.
