Round Up - How far will 5 litres go?

Hi There,
just bought some round up to completely kill everything in the garden but I am concerned about how much 5 litres will actually cover. The container says it covers 150sqm. My garden is 100 sqm approx but I can't see how such a small container can cover so much ground.
Does anybody have experience of covering an entire garden with 5 litres of roundup. How does it work? Is it really possible to get so much coverage? Is the sprayer tricky to manage? Any accounts of previous experience with this product are appreciated.

dilution rate [approximately] 1:100 ie. 1ml: 100ml. This used with a calibrated sprayer - a good 'solo' or 'CP' make of sprayer 10litre or 15l only. Will see your guidelines work very well. Ask if they have a dye so you can see what you have sprayed and also please - buy a cowel [a hood] so as to avoid drift.

Roundup is quite concentrated and 5 litres will go a long long way. Far more than 150 sq. metres which leads me to believe that you actually have a premixed version rather than the concentrate that the farmers would use after mixing with water.

Check this. If it doesnt need mixing with water, then apply it using a sprayer, either a knapsack sprayer or a "pump" action garder sparyer that you can get for about €10 in a garden centre.

If you use a watering can then it won't cover your area, IMO.

Thanks a lot for the replies. I have indeed got the premixed version and I have a pump action sprayer. I suppose what led me into these questions is that I used a watercan before to spray something and it didn't go very far at all. I presume the sprayer will omit only the required amount and therefore will allow the 5litre mix to go around the full garden.

Re: Round Up - How far will 5 litres go? + How long to work?

Just adding an update to this thread. I applied the roundup to the garden 8 days ago. At this stage a lot of the garden has died (dried and withered) however there is still an area of grass which still looks quite green. On closer inspection I can see this appears to be starting to die however it is not clear if it really is. The question now is do you think it needs more time and if so when could I expect to see no more green. Alternatively, if it is not dead yet does it mean I didn't apply enough spray to a particular area and should I go out this week and add some more spray to the remainder of the green grass.
