ROS and Med1 form

Hi.
I'm using ROS (form 11) for the first time. In the "Personal Tax Credits" section I'm adding my VHi expenses into the "Other Health Expenses" section. Previously when I completed the hardcopy form a reference was made to the Med1 form - ie I need to provide it. I see nothing in the online form about this. Anyone know why? Do I need to submit an additional (online?) Med1 form with my online form 11?

I dont know what you mean exactly by "VHI expenses". Can you explain ?

Using the online form, you dont need an Med1. You put in the total amount of applicable medical expenses and keep the details in case you are audited.
 
Is it the same if you are claiming tax relief on nursing home expenses paid on behalf of a parent? In previous years I filled in a form with lots of detail regarding my mothers PPS number, HSE support etc. This year I decided to claim online but it seems you only need to submit the amount with no further details. I haven't submited my claim yet as I was unsure what to do.
 


I have never claimed for nursing home expenses but I remember seeing this on the form last year.

if it asks you for a total amount, then do the calculation, enter the total amount and keep all the paperwork.
 
Thanks for the information. It just seems so much easier online that I was sure there must be more to the process.
