Roof Price

I am building a house by Direct labour at a stage by stage process. Can anyone tell me what the price of roofing a 2400sq ft 2storey house? Any comments would be greatful

you'll need to give a bit more info: Dormer, 1/2 dormers, full or 1/2 gables - or full hip. Approx length of house and rafters.

Is it a straight run, or is it L or T shaped house (hence valley's, leading etc...).

gables are35degree angle, attic area 120sq fiit, Lenght is 40foot approx, 2 hips to front of the house.

You should be getting a top job for about 8grand labour on a house that size in this environment. Roofing a 3000Sq foot house is costing between 8-14 K labour in Athlone/ballinasloe area at present. I actually know a guy that got a great job down on an 1800 square foot bungalow house for <5K. Your house is about 3.5-4 weeks work for 2 good carpenters if they are worth their salt at all..... so at 8K they'd be getting €4,000 each (not bad in a recession Im sure you'll agree) which aint bad In the 3.5 weeks Im assuming, joicing, felting, slatting, dormers, ply, upstairs studdin, doorframes and windowboards, etc. If your going holocore and blocks upstairs take a week off the time
