Hi,

I would really appreciate if anyone has any information on a few queries I have. I'm currently on maternity leave, I have taken the extra 16 weeks unpaid leave and am due back to work in about 12 weeks. The company I work for is going through a major restructuring process as we are merging with another company. Available positions in the new structure are currently being advertised and there is also a voluntary redundancy package being offered but only until the end of May. So my questions are:

1. As I'm on ML and can't apply for this voluntary redundancy package will the company have to offer me this exact package when I return to work or could I be offered a lesser package.
2. If I apply for a position while on ML do I waver any of the rights I currently have.
Many Thanks

Being on maternity leave has no bearing on your right to apply for voluntary redundancy. You can apply on the same basis as anyone else.

I dont think so. You are entitled to apply for any job.

Rights whilst on maternity leave

Maternity leave is called Maternity Protection because it protects all your rights whilst on leave. So you are entitled to apply for jobs but also your company should notify you of promotions or any changing circumstances within the company.
