Rights of spouse after leaving family home

I purchased my home in 2006 in my sole name as a single man paying £21.5k deposit. In2007 I married. My wife left the home in October last year 2011 and registered a financial interest in the home.

Can she force me to sell? She is demanding the sale be started immediately.
She rents privately can she walk back into the house without my permission?
The value of the house is only 10/15k above the mortgage so the sale would only generate a minimum return. I have always paid the mortgage and continue to do so without any contribution from my wife.
I am not yet legally separated should I do this?
