Revenue refund

Hi guys this is my first post and hence my name possibly in the wrong forum.
I made a claim with Revenue on Line at the end of Aug but haven't received any refund as yet. Would anyone be able to tell me their procedure and how long it takes to receive the payment.

thats too long for me, Revenue are holding on as much as possible though in the current climate. You should phone your tax office to enquire what the delay is.

I normally send in my tax return in January each year for the previous year and I get any refund in March

Refunds were very slow during the year but now are issuing extremely fast usually within 5 working days. Contact your local tax office.
 
Just to be clear, is the refund due for 2008 or the current year ? Refunds for 2009 will probably be not processed until January.
 
Got a refund due on 2008 taxes in November. The cheque arrived before the balancing statement or receipt for ammended VAT etc. The return was done online.

This is certainly the case. I've been submitting Form 12 returns for years and they've gladly taken the bit of money I've had to pay. this year I'm due a refund, and all of a sudden they decided that I've been using the wrong form all along and they can't even begin to process it until I submit the right one. It was never a problem when I owed money.

Tsk, public servants, eh ;)
