You really need to read the Finance Bill to know why tax is so complicated.

This section below raises the question that if it takes the Revenue 17 years to act on Non Resident accounts after implementing all the material themselves (i.e. they cannot say they did not know) and then another 10 years to review Life Policies....

is it not the case that they are already in breach of this new section?



133.—The Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 is amended in section
1078—
(a) by inserting after subsection (1) the following subsection:
‘‘(1A) A person shall, without prejudice to any other 35
penalty to which the person may be liable, be guilty of
an offence under this section if the person—
(a) is knowingly concerned in the fraudulent evasion
or attempted fraudulent evasion of tax by the
person or any other person, 40
(b) is knowingly concerned in, or is reckless as to
whether or not the person is concerned in,
directly or indirectly facilitating the fraudulent
evasion of tax by any other person, or
