Hi all,

First time poster, I wanted to put it out there before I seek an accountant's advice.

I just returned to Ireland (Nov '13)from working in Switzerland for 2 years. I got a new P45 when I started back working in Ireland. Now paying tax at accumulative rate. I was paying tax/social in Switzerland and in full time employment.

My question is, are my tax/social contributions in Switzerland counted on the Irish system in terms of: Tax credits or social contributions? I am aware that Ireland has an agreement with the Swiss for double taxation(if non-resident).

But I was wondering if I could use my Swiss contributions for the Irish system and thus retain my stamps or even tax credits?

I read before that in England your contributions/tax and *I think* pension is transferable.

Any ideas and info is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
