Returning from abroad with money

Hi All,

Looking for some help, what is the situation with regards to bringing money back from a foreign country when returning to Ireland.

For example returning from Australia after over 2 years working there. Is there a limit on the tax free earnings I can bring back into Ireland?

There is no tax issue on funds brought into the country.

However, you do need to ensure that you were non-tax resident in Ireland for the period you were abroad otherwise you may be taxable in Ireland on your Australian earnings with a tax credit for foreign taxes paid.
