Retreiving information from a Vodafone Blackberry

In possession of my brothers Blackberry. He is presently critically ill in ICU. I know his PUK code but not his pin. There is information on his phone relating to his illness. I've spoken with Vodafone & they suggested I enter the wrong code until it locks & then use the puk code to unlock & re-set the password. Did this until I got a message telling me this was the last attempt and failure would result in information being erased. Vodafone had no other suggestions.

I know this might sound a bit dodgy but I can prove who I am & who he is etc etc AND I have his puk code.

If anyone can offer advice I would really appreciate it.

If it works like my one...

Do a full power down
Take out the sim card
Power up.....

it won't ask for pin ,and you will be able access already downloaded emails......

You need to know if it is a corporate Blackberry or a Vodafone web type blackberry. Is his email address @vodafone.com or @companyheworksfor.com

Do not whatever you do input the word "Blackberry" on the 9th or 10th attempt.

If your stuck just to have the phone just take out the sim and put it into another mobile phone device so you can receive calls/texts etc.

I believe it is a company blackberry. Does this change the situation?

I have been prompted to "enter blackberry" on several occassions. Is this some security device to frustrate a hacker?

Yes it does , the company will have copies of all the email on the server ... give them a call....

If it is a company email address the BES server administrator for that company will be able to reset the password and provide it to you. It is a simple admin function on their system. If you tell them you only want the phone functions back, ie phone and texts, they can disable the email reconciliation.

I needed to get access to data my brother had recorded in the memo function. I have subsequently got the password but unfortunately the data is not as illuminating as we had hoped.
