Respringing a roller blind ?

I have roller blinds in my living room. I recently repainted the room but when I took the roller blind out of its holder, it "unsprung" itself. I tried twisting the side of the roller with a pliers. It holds for a few turns but then it releases itself again. Do I need to keep holding the blind in place with the pliers until I insert it back into the holder ? I am finding it very difficult to fix

Any time that a roller blind comes loose in my house, ( by that I measn stops springing back up with a tug) I just remove it, roll it up tightly and put it back and it is resprung automatically.

Have you tried this ?

I have never had to do anything else.

Try putting one side back in its holder and manually rolling the blind back up then hook the other side in when it is all rolled up. It should tighten it. You might have to do it a couple of times to tighten it properly. If this doesn't work the spring might be too bad to fix and you may need to get a replacement spring fitted by a blind shop.

Many thanks for all of the helpful tips. I shall attempt to do what MB05 and Eggerb have mentioned, tonight.
