Hi,
I have a company van for work on which I pay 5% BIK. I use the van for travelling to and from work which is approx 40,000 km / year. I have access to a fuel card and all vehicle expenses are covered. I estimate the van is saving me approx €10,000 a year. However we now have two kids and my wife also works full time so it’s not practical to only have one car to transport the kids in. The company does not operate any company cars. What is the most tax efficient way of getting an allowance off the company for a car in lieu of the company van?
