Repayment of Fair deal loan - generously extended by Revenue

I am posting this under the tax banner as the repayment of the Fair deal loan is handled by revenue. There is 12 months to pay back the loan before interest is charged at 8% from the date of the loan.

My mother died earlier this year and I applied for probate for her estate as a personal applicant which requires a face to face meeting in the Probate office. The Probate was delayed for over 4 months as the Probate office stopped meeting personal applicants since March this year and only recently started again.

I have applied to the Revenue to extend the repayment deadline due to the delays in getting a grant of Letters of administration and I am waiting for a response.. I am wondering if anyone else has experience of this and if they were successful in getting the payment date extended

You could lodge a complaint and they will be back
I do not think there will be an issue if you have made genuine attempts to conclude the situation.
Just have an email trail

Great news. I got a response from the Revenue in less than a week and they have extended the repayment date until this time next year. Very considerate response.
