Renting parking space question

Hi Guys

Appreciate this may not be the right place to post this question but not sure of anywhere else more relevent.

Does anyone have any experiece of renting out a parking spot in the city centre? Im about to rent out a spot from someone in an apt complex.

They are looking for 3 months rent in advance aswell as a deposit for the zapper(understandable!). Does anyone know if this is the norm? seems a bit excessive.

I also rent a car space, I just took one month's deposit again to cover the buzzer and fob.

Just be sure you can rent that space under the management agreement for that development. Ours specifically prohibits it. You might find your car clamped and that deposit very hard to get back if the "landlord" of the space is trying to pull a fast one on the management company.
