I have an investment property (apartment) which is 2.5 years old. The tenants called with a fault in the heating system. Its a gas system so I called Bord Gais and they came out. They called me after their visit to let me know that the pain part of the gas system was broken (the ignition that lights the pilot light) and that it will cost approximately €360 to replace it.
I received no documentation on the boiler when I bought the apartment and am wondering now, if its still under warranty.
Not sure where to go from here. Wouldn't have thought it should give way after such a short length of time.
if the apt was new when you purchased, then you should contact the builder. If you have no joy then take a claim in the small claims court. A boiler should last more than 2.5 years ( i would expect a min of 10 years out of a boiler)
i would get back onto the builders as they sold you the property. I would tell them that unless they get somebody to fix the heating, you are going to submit a claim to the small claims court.
If they still wont budge, then have the heating repaired and submit a claim. This can be done on line.
