Rental Income while travelling

Hi,
I'm considering taking a two year sabbatical to go travelling around the world. I plan to rent out my PPR and I also have an investment property. There will be no mortgage on either property. The combined gross income will be approx €1800. I will not be getting paid by my employer. Can I use my tax free allowance when I am travelling? What other implications will I have with this scenario?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Do you plan on working abroad, if your Irish resident you will be taxed on your foreign income here.

No, I do not intend to work, just travel. I'm looking into taking a 18-24 month sabbatical from my job. I would probably need to freeze my pension or pay into it.
I will live off savings and rental income from my PPR and my rental property.
