Rent taken twice in April

Hi,

So my landlord changed bank account in April, and asked me to fill out another DD form.
I said fine (joked a bit with him about nama, he said no, no nothing like that...)

It seems that my rent was taken twice in April. Got onto the LL, and he said ok, I'm paid up until June. I said fine...

It seems that my rent was taken again in May. I would have expected that He would have stopped/skipped taking the rent in May, so that it would have got back to normal.

I called the LL on Friday, left a vmail, but he has not got back to me yet.

Just wondering what my rights are here, what would the correct resolution be here?
If the LL just says that I am going to be paid 2 months in advance, then he has just taken a months rent, that I will never really see until I leave. ( I'm happy where I am, so that would be a 'long' time).

Should I go to Threshold or PRTB?

Ask him to make a manual payment to you of one months rent?

Do the bank have anything to say on the double payment or can they help out? Getting either the bank or landlord to sort it out would be a lot easier than going to Threshold or PRTB and possibly get the landlord's back up just yet.

So- has the LL now come back to you ?

Did you check the original DD was cancelled?

Just confirming that it's a direct debit you put in place rather than a standing order. The fact that you needed to do something when the landlord changed bank account sounds more like it's a standing order, in which case you need to instruct the bank to stop it for one month.

It should be easier to ask the landlord to pay back the overpayment

Why is one still replying to OP when -as yet - we haven't been told whether or not the LL has apologised and corrected the situation ?
