Rent Control - Time Limit ?

Is there a date when the 4% cap for rent control area will finish or is indefinite till the housing criss is over? Thanks

An area may be designated as a Rent Pressure Zone (RPZ) for a maximum of three years. This means that the RPZ designation will automatically lapse three years after an area was originally designated as an RPZ. In theory, the designation of an area may be lifted earlier than this if the pressures on rent are deemed to have eased sufficiently.

At least, that's what the legislation currently provides…
