hi am a sigle mum of two kids i just started to get my lone parrent E240.80 a week my rent is E170 a week but i got a cheak 4 E54 rent allowance they say i have to pay E116 a week i get E80 mantance of my hubby to but i want to no is this right ore am i intidled to any thing else thanks
 
Do you have other income apart from the One Parent Family and the Maintenance? The maximum rate of payment for a parent and 2 children on One Parent Family is €256.30, so your reduced payment suggests that you have (or had) something else. Are you working or were you working?
 
thanks 4 getting back to me that is all the money i get i dont work at all
 
You should contact the One Parent Family Section (at the Social Welfare Local Office near you) to get them to check that the amount you're getting on One Parent Family is right.

Your maintenance is counted as income when deciding on the amount of Rent Supplement you're entitled to. If you think that the amount is wrong, ask the CWO to show you how it was calcuated.
 
I think maybe meena is only gettin E240.80 because fuel allowance has been stopped for the summer months. . . . I could be totally wrong, so take with a pinch of salt.
 
It could be that the maintenance is for you rather than the children and that's why OFP is at reduced rate? Are you sure that the amount is correct as it is not a standard reduced rate even?No harm in getting it checked out as Gipimann suggests.
