Rent Allowance - Will my home be inspected?

Hi,

In these busy times for Community Welfare Officers, have they been visiting peoples homes to inspect the living conditions in relation to rent allowance?

I live in dublin 8 so any tales of experience with this would be appreciated. What happens? Will I have to stay at home all of the time!

when i first moved into my house the welfare officer called about two weeks later he rang me first and just had a quick look around and left..that was it..no more house calls

yes, they always call, but they make an appointment first.
