Rent allowance and living with male friend

Hi all,i would be grateful for any response. I have been currently renting in private accomadation for almost 3years now..I lost my job in dec and still awaiting a claim. I am in receipt of supp welfare allowance and was recieving rent allowance up til last week..The thing is i have been sharing rented accomadation with my best friend who is a male(we are not in a relationship) for almost 12mths now,he is currently unemployed too.
We moved into new 3bed house 2weeks ago as the lease was up in our apartment,landlord thinking about selling and it became quiet unsafe with anti social behaviour! I notified the health GPW last week who said i would have to make a fresh claim with new inspector because of change in address.I did so today.
I brought in all necessary paperwork etc to new inspector,i will be getting my supp welfare allowance but she said i will not recieve rent allowance till they do a house visit?Why is this when i was recieving it with the last few weeks? Also i was asked was i going out with my friend, i said no as im not but now i am afraid we will both not recieve payments due to false accusations? sorry for the long post!
 
what i mean in false accusations is if they accuse us of been a couple and i loose my allowance.i can afford this! i am we are both only recieving 150 each,rent weekly is 85eur each and that excludes all other costs esb,oil,internet,bins etc..
 
Since you moved address, your application for Rent Supplement is treated as a brand new application - a home visit for new applications would be common regardless of the situation.

It would be entirely normal to ask about your house sharer, it's not an accusation. The CWO must check whether you're a couple or not to know what your entitlements are. As a home visit will confirm what you say (you'll have separate bedrooms), it's nothing to worry about.
 
oh thats ok so,ya we have separate rooms anyway. i had just read somewhere online how someone in a similar situation wasnt believed..as in they accused them of been together when she claimed they were not and was given the allowance
