Rent Allowance - amount quoted to health board

I am about to rent my house and one prospective tenant using rent allowance wanted me to put the rent on the Health Board form as lower than the actual rent so that she would qualify to rent the house.
I am reluctant to do this as I don't want the rental agreement I would have with the tenant to contradict any other information.
I rangThe Health Board who said whatever I put down they approve or don't approve, whatever arrangement i come to with the tenant after that is between me and the tenant. It seems messy to me and I'm uncertain how the taxman would feel about it or other bodies. anyone any advice?

Will the tenant pay the difference between the Rent Supplement amount (if granted) and the actual rent? Rent Supplement is calculated so that the person is considered to have a reasonable amount to live on from their Social Welfare payment - for most SW payments, they only have to pay €24 pw themselves. If your rent is much higher than the limit, will they be able to pay the difference to you every month, or will they fall into arrears for the difference?

A lot of Community Welfare areas now look for the tenancy agreement/lease as well as the completed form, so different rent amounts will easily be spotted.

the rent is 600, they're only approved for 500. They would pay the difference but i don't like the discrepancy re:what's being recorded, also if they are only approved for 500 chances are they would struggle with the payments, they were going to be in arrears immediately because they only had the deposit and not the month in advance which i've decided to not entertain either

If they're asking you to enter €500 as the rent charged on the form, then the maximum rent supplement they'll get is approx €400 per month (as I mentioned, there is a minimum contribution of €24 pw which they have to pay themselves). This leaves the difference between their rent supplement and the actual rent closer to €200 euro pm.

If a RA tenant does go into arrears. Do you need to report this to the HSE? Say for example in this example the amount of arrears suggests they can't afford the 100 difference?
