If I am using a room in my house as a home office, can I qualify for tax relief under the rent a room scheme or to qualify do I need to rent the room to a "lodger" or an actual unconnected person?

Maybe this post should be in the askaboutbusiness thread?
 
the expemtion form income tax, as in I do not have to file a case V return for the income I receive from my company for renting the office space.
 
rent-a-room scheme allows an owner-occupier to rent rooms in his PPR to private tenants without encurring income tax if conditions are met.

Rent-a-room scheme does not apply to renatl to companies, private tenants only.

Also, Planing permission is required for change of use of your PPR or part of as office space.
