Removing an old stanley stove

Does anyone know anyone in the Sligo area who would remove it?

Rather than remove it, try & sell it & let the buyer take it. Put it on Adverts or boards or buy&sell etc.

Hi,

We had the same problem earlier in the year ( but ours was a wellstood not a stanley ) . Some places will do a trade in against your old stanley - I know gings hardware in portlaoise being one such shop although your best bet might be just to contact your local Stanley stockist(s) in Sligo.

I found a company in Thurles - Sorn Cookers ( www.sorncookers.com )- they make their own ranges but also do refurbs on other models. They travel all over the country aswell.

We offered them our range for free as we just needed it out of the house so it was really worth something to us to actually get someone to take it out, not alone take it away. Yours, being a stanley, will have some/more value depending on its condition.
Their numer is 056/8834388 and I doubt they'd have any issue travelling to Sligo as I remember them saying they had to travel to Mayo before they could come down to us in Carlow.

Hi there,
Iwas wondering if you had any luck with your range. I have just been given an old Stanley no.9 and would love to get it refurbished but have no idea of the costs. would be grateful if you would let me know how you got on or anyone else out there with advise. The range itself looks pretty sonud but the oven is falling apart inside and it may cost more than its worth but a shame to waste such a beautiful looking range

Just a word of caution to anyone thinking of having a range reconditioned or
re-enamelled. I had a perfectly good Stanley oilfired one but wanted to get the colour changed to match new kitchen. I sent it to a guy in Co. Kikenny, who stripped everything off it- he also sells reconditioned ranges. i am now trying to get my parts ,such as control knobs, thermostat etc. back as the parts he put back were all crocks. Beware of cowboys.
