I can't see one up the chimney. Do all chimneys have them, the house is 20 years old and in an estate. If it doesn't have one is it a big deal?

F Frank Registered User Messages 1,830 7 Dec 2014 #2 There isn't one put in with a gas fire for safety. Carbon monoxide. If there is one in the chimney it should be removed if possible or locked open on the install of a gas fire
