Relocation Package

We may be relocating to Dubai on 2 yr contract, before we start negotiating packages etc, does anyone have any idea what we can expect a standard package to include, my husband is the one being offered the role, I would have to give up good job here with benefits company car etc. We have one baby so I would not be prepared to work initially.

Hi,

I dont know about standard packages, but here are some things which would occur to me :

- professional moving services (to help with findind and choosing an apartment, making you aware of facilities near work/apartment, help with logistics of bank accounts/registering with the state/changing driving licence etc)
- accomodation provided and all bills paid
- car provided
- phone provieded
- flights home for all of you X times per year (or friend/family can use flight to come to see you)
- membership of gym/social club
- language lessons on arabic (if needed)
- creche info for your baby (in case you plan on enrolling him/her in a creche)
- per diem expenses

I would also add (but I don't know how relevant these are):

Payment in Sterling or USD
Tax accountant services paid for
Agreement on payment of school fees - apparently very expensive in Dubai
