Hello, my parents are currently sitting in a mortgage free house worth nearly €700k. One is retired, the other retiring in 2 years. They do not wish to move as they love the house and area but would like to release equity if possible as they are stuck for cash on a daily basis. I'm an only child so the house is mine when they're gone (God forbid) and they want to ensure I'm not handing the bank a massive amount of my inheritance when they've passed. I have tried to convince them to sell, downsize and enjoy the cash but to no avail. Is there any way around this?
