Registering a Business Name

Hi;

When you register a business name with the CRO what happens if you dont trade under that name ??.
After you register a business name what is the next step from the CRO's point of view ? Do they expect you to register for vat, tax etc etc ....

I currently trade as a self employed person under my personal name & want to register a business name, build a website & grow a business, while I am doing this I want to continue to trade under my personal name as everything is set up under my personal name ie vat, bank accounts, contracts etc. If the business is successful I will then obviously start trading under this registered business name.

If you are trading under a name other than your own, you are obliged to register that name.

Registering a business name does not give you any rights to that name.

Nothing happens if you don't use it. As far as I know, it just stays on the register.
